For Your Viewing Pleasure…

So I’m lame and can’t exactly figure out how to make my text fit around my photos like I want it to, but below are a select few of the pictures I took of the Week of Snow in Oxford and my trip to visit the lovely Amy Jo Couchman in her current residence: Barbastro, Spain…

The Shed

After my first two weeks of class in Oxford last semester I was on the brink of insanity. Why? 1: Because just looking at my syllabus stressed me out to no end (in fact, I think I called my parents after my first Shakespeare class and told them I was quitting grad. school) 2: Because I didn’t know…

Mr. and Mrs. Bishop

Writing that feels strange. My older sister, Jenna, no longer carries the Lucado name, and, in the words of some guy at the reception, I am now “the oldest Lucado daughter.”  My sister married Brett Bishop Jan. 17, 2008 in San Antonio, TX. Everything was beautiful to say the least, but my favorite part (besides the abundance of…

FAMiliarity

You Know You're a Nerd When…

you consider going to the library one of the most exciting things that’s happened to you since moving to England. But don’t judge too quickly because this isn’t just any library; it’s the Bodleian Library in the heart of Oxford.  More commonly known for its cameos in the Harry Potter films, this…

A Few Visual Updates

This is where I live. This is what I’ve been doing. Please note the Harry Potter scarves, compliments of Ms. Lindsay Hall in honor of the “Pottering Around” tour we took on Halloween…

Places I love Here

– Uhuru: a small natural foods store on Cowley Road. They have awesome stuff I’ll probably never eat, like white chocolate with pepper corns. – G & D’s: a local-to-Oxford ice cream shop open till midnight (almost unheard of here) that serves flavors like lavender, really good except it was weird tasting a flavor…
